Babes in the Wood, established in 2008, is a small family-run nursery. Located right next to Arduthie Primary School, it is convenient for all areas of Stonehaven.

The nursery is a converted and extended residential premises, with full childcare and staff facilities. The outdoor play area is fully enclosed by an 8-foot high wall.

The nursery is registered with the Care Inspectorate and is regularly monitored in accordance with the National Care Standards and Regulation of Care.

It is registered for a total of 50 children at any one time, from age 0 to 5 years, with space for a small number of pre/after-school children.

The nursery is open from 7:30am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday. It closes for two weeks over Christmas/New Year, and one day each for April and May weekends.

Babes in the Wood is a Limited Company (BITW Ltd SC355946), and the business is fully insured.

Our Mission Statement

Babes in the Wood aims to help children become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors to society.

Children will learn through their play with a balance of free choice and adult led experiences. The curriculum will be responsive to the needs and abilities of each and every child and will be provided for them in a safe, caring environment in partnership with their parents and their community.
