Operating During Covid 19

We are currently open and operating as usual. Here are some things you should know about how we are operating during the pandemic and the safety measures we have in place! Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued cooperation with the current changes.

  • Unfortunately due to the high risk of infection parents are no longer allowed into the nursery. We will be operating a door drop off and pick up only.

  • We ask that all parents/guardians wear a mask when picking up and dropping off children unless you are medically exempt.

  • We have separate doors for each room in our setting- 0-2's use the front door and the 3-5's use the side gate. We ask that all parents use the markers on the drive way to try to maintain the 2 metre social distancing rule.

  • Sanitizer is provided at both doors for use before and after pressing the bell.

  • Staff wear masks at all times and carry out cleaning of all high contact areas i.e. door bells, handles, toilets etc.

  • Regular handwashing for both staff and children. Hands will be washed upon entry to the building as well as before going home, before and after meal times, after the toilet etc.

  • Toys are washed and sterilized daily.

  • Staff undergo regular asymptomatic testing.

Safety Measures
Covid 19 Symptoms and Testing

The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:

  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)

  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Most people with COVID display at least 1 of these symptoms.

What to do if you have symptoms

If you have any of the main symptoms of COVID-19, even if they're mild:

  1. Get a PCR test (test that is sent to a lab) to check if you have COVID-19 as soon as possible.

  2. You and anyone you live with should stay at home and not have visitors until you get your test result – only leave your home to have a test.

Anyone in your childcare or support bubble should also stay at home if you have been in close contact with them since your symptoms started or during the 48 hours before they started.
